International Seminar on “Industry – Institute Partnership For Improving Employability of students: Collaborate or Collapse”

Rajkot Management Association organized an International Seminar on Industry Institute Partnership in association with RK University and American Society for Quality (ASQ) on 20th August, 2017. Major Representatives from industry and education institutes attended the seminar. President of RMA Mr. Chetan Kothari started by his Welcome speech for all the dignitaries after the lighting of the lamp. Dignitaries presented on various concerns of Industry Institute Partnership viz.  Dr. Himanshu Trivedi – VP of Bosch Rexroth ltd. and chair of ASQ, Dr. Dharmesh Raval – Dean & Director, RK University, Ms. Stephanie Thompson – Senior Leader, ASQ and Quality Manager, Camp Corp. All experts gave opinion about the important of partnership between academia and industry and also shared their experiences. The experiences of Ms. Stephanie Thompson was about her involvement in such projects in US and how it helped students as well as Industry there in USA. Dr. Raval shared details about various successful projects that university has undertaken with industry and how university is strategizing about such partnership for improving employability of students of RKU and how it has already started giving results for the students.

There was also a panel discussion for the same. The panel included Mr. Denish Patel – Executive Vice President, RK University, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Jain – Professor, Institute of Management, Nirma University and moderator for the panel discussion Mr. Parag Jobanputra, GM, TUV SUD South Asia. Panel Discussion focused on how can we take up things so that we move ahead in implementation. And it was agreed by all that “time to do is now” and “place to do is here”!

Students, Corporate Personnel and faculty members from various institutes and industry were present and participated actively in the seminar. The event which was organized jointly by RKU – RMA and ASQ is a major thinking event with regard to implementing industry institute partnership – a much talked and discussed agenda but not been implemented in this region of the world. The event was well appreciated from industry as well as academia as an event which brought both the important stakeholder for the career of students – youth of country to discuss about the future.
